An Indian restaurant in Queensland, Australia, is offering free meals to the ‘less fortunate and those alone’ this Christmas.
This is the second time a row that the restaurant owner is throwing open their doors on Dec 25.
No one eats alone this Christmas, the restaurant announced on its Facebook page.
“Myself (Raj), Jess and the Roshni Team would like to invite our Mackay Community who would normally spend Christmas alone to join us again this Christmas from 12-2pm for good food, good conversation and fun times!!,” goes the note.
Last year, some 100 people turned up. This year, they expect some 250 people.
What’s on the menu? They plan to serve traditional ham, prawns, salad and desserts, as well as their most popular curries and naan breads.
“To us this is not charity, it’s about coming together and giving back to our community that has given us so much; making sure no one is alone or goes hungry on Christmas Day,” they said.
