
Telco veteran Manjot Singh Mann has been tapped become the next chief executive office (CEO) at Singapore telecommunication provider M1 Ltd (M1).
Manjot is no stranger to the region as he has had stints in Jakarta, Indonesia, and more recently Singapore.
He will be replacing Karen Kooi Lee Wah, 64, effective 6 Dec 2018.
The 53-year old executive spent 13 years with Hutchison, including as Hutchison Telecom India SVP and later Hutchison Indonedia CEO between 2006 and 2014.
He then joined joined UK-based Lebara Mobile (UK) and became the global CEO for communications and convergence of the pan-European mobile virtual network operator which was acquired by a Swiss-based equity group in 2017.
Manjot joins M1 from Pareteum Asia Pte Ltd after a relatively short stint. He was appointed CEO to expand NASDAQ-listed Pareteum Corporation’s footprint in Asia and has been a member of Pareteum Corporation’s Strategic Advisory Board since March 2018.
Pareteum is a cloud software platform company, which targets and enables new and growing sectors from IoT (Internet of Things), Data Analytics to Smart Cities and application-developer markets.
Manjot brings with him over 28 years of well-rounded operational leadership experience across diverse geographical markets and a unique blend of insights and perspectives in the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry, according to a M1 statement.
