My exciting flight in a plane full of Indians

Flying in a Scoot flight (Amritsar to Singapore) yesterday. A flight full of Indians never fails to be interesting…

The moment they reach their seats, they start exchanging seats with others. Once the seat belt sign is off, they get up and go the ones they changed seats with to talk and laugh. Go figure…You see this is any local Indian transportation (buses, trains).

Some empty seats in business class, and a man goes up to the stewardess there and demands seats for 11 of his economy ticketed group. She says sure, please pay. He starts arguing.

Lady behind me decides to give a running commentary of the plane’s actions. The plane moves off the terminal and she tells the person next to her, “plane has moved”. Plane turns to taxi to runway, and she says “Plane is turning”. Plane takes off and keeps gaining height, she asks, “Why isn’t it flying level?”

Non-stop chatter, talking and kids walking around, people everywhere off their seats and walking about talking.

Business class passengers walk to economy side to look about.

Reminded me of a dhaba atmosphere. Better bring earplugs if anyone needs to sleep.

Plane lands, and many passengers clap. I mean actually clap! And the guy in front me shouts “Jai Mata Ji”, crowd copies him.

Plane taxi-ing to the terminal, and a few of them keep getting off their seats. Stewardess announce untold times to please sit until plane reaches full stop.

Guy in front of me has his eyes peeled to the window, and keeps telling his friend, “Airport itna vadda?” (The airport is so huge?).

Like I said… interesting flight.
