JASBIR SINGH: A long serving volunteer at Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia

Sikhs have ‘forgotten the purpose of life’ and need to ‘acquire divine knowledge’ that has to be applied in daily life.

The observation was made by the Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia (SNSM) Jathedar Dr Jasbir Singh in a note sent to members and the general Sanggat.

“From our observations it tells us that we all have forgotten the purpose of life,” he said in the note which comes on the heels of some keenly debated events within the Sikh circles in Malaysia. A copy of the note was also seen by Asia Samachar.

The measured statement underlined the youth body’s objectives to advance Sikhi parchaar and youth development.

“Let us remain focused and strive for unity and love,” said Dr Jasbir who was elected unanimously as the SNSM annual general meeting in August 2016.

THE FULL STATEMENT

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

Sikh Naujawan Sabha Malaysia (SNSM) was established to serve the youth. Its main objectives are Parchaar and youth development.

From our observations it tells us that we all have forgotten the purpose of life. Guru Ji says “Bhaee prapat Manukh dehuria, Gobind Milan ki eeh teri bariyaa” Hence, our objective is to be Jivan Mukhat.

We may read gurbani, we may understand gurbani but we have not applied in our Jivan. We have forgotten the One that created us, Kartar Purakh. If we understand this, we are all His children and to abide his Hukam. His Hukam is to see One in all. Let us contemplate, reflect whether we are doing this.

As humans we are given the intellect to think and analyse for ourselves. Therefore, to be able to think wisely, the need to acquire divine knowledge and most important, applying it or else it is merely information.

It is time to reflect again, to see if we are going to achieve the goal of life. If not, let us all come together, help each other to achieve this common goal of human life.

SNSM would like to invite all the youth to participate in the upcoming events that we have lined up for you ie; Holla Mahalla and Grand Vaisakhi Event.

Let us remain focused and strive for unity and love.

Ek Pita Ekas Ke Ham Barak.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
