Re: i) SGPC : Dr. Anurag Singh has nothing to do with the Sikh Ithias Research Board
ii) SGPC supports “Ek Granth Ek Panth” concept in Sikhism
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has issued a “NOTICE” statement which has been uploaded on its website few days ago. The SGPC is the highest religious body of the Sikhs and Gurdwaras worldwide. [ See Appendix-A] [For full statement, go here]

The SGPC stated that, on a website “Gur Vichar”, Dr.Anurag Singh had made some statements and “who presently claims to be the Director of Sikh Ithias Research Board of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar”. The SGPC statement added that “this Anurag Singh has since resigned from the post of Director in January 2009. The statement said further, that this gentleman was misleading the public by “affixing” his name with the Sikh Ithias Research Board”.
The “Gur Vichar” website in the past hosted many venomous articles against MGC. One of its main contributor is Dr. Anurag Singh who too has written many inaccurate articles about MGC. The website says it is promoting balanced view on Sikhi when in fact it is doing just the opposite, and labelling credible and responsible organizations as “Panth Dhoki”.
SGPC supports “EK GRANTH EK PANTH”.
The SGPC statement states :
“His (Anurag Singh) utterances and statements are noted to be anti religious and against the Sikh sentiments. To illustrate one ……. His saying “ There is no concept of Ek Granth Ek Panth in Sikhism” and from this the Sikh Sanggat can well understand the “figment of his fertile imagination”.
The SGPC has given the example of the concept of “Ek Granth Ek Panth” which was attacked earlier by Anurag Singh in the “Gur Vichar” website that there was no such concept in Sikhi, and now SGPC says Anurag Singh’s such statement is anti-religious and against Sikh sentiments. The SGPC, thus approved “Ek Granth Ek Panth” concept as being in line with Sikhi and Sikh religion.
The SGPC adds that “His (Anurag Singh) utterances are unfortunate and does not deserve any merit and therefore no acceptance”.
The attached Appendix-B lower earlier photo shows as “Dr. Anurag Singh, Director, Sikh Ithias Board SGPC”. The upper photo shows, as “Ex-Director”, which adjustment was made after SGPC “NOTICE” was issued.

The leading Sikh religious societies comprising MGC, KDM, SNSM and Melaka Vidyala had unanimously endorsed the concept “Ek Granth Ek Panth Ek Maryada” at a meeting on 7th August, 2016 as a base for Sikhi Parchar for one year.
The SGPC “NOTICE” endorses the above concept which is rooted in Gurbani.
“Ika Bani Ikh Gur Ikho Shabad Vichar” [ Ang 646 ]
The MGC, however for the remaining duration of the one year Sikhi Parchar would add words “Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji”, in brackets so that divisive elements are not given room to mislead Sanggat by saying that the MGC is promoting a new Granth, when in fact “EK Granth” refers to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
“EK GRANTH (Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji), EK PANTH, EK MARYADA”
Dhanwad
